CUPPING THERAPY
Ancient Remedies advance applications
Cupping a technique used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves
placing cups with heated air on the skin. Once the air inside cools, the skin
under the cup experiences a suction effect. The cups are usually left on the
body for 5-15 min before being removed.
Cupping draws more blood into an area, which can relieve muscle tension through improved blood flow. It also improves oxygen supply, which aids in optimum function of the body part.
After treatment, the skin under the cup may become bruised and discoloured. It can take up to 7-10 days for the colour to return to normal.
